Insulating flange connections of the IFS are used on sections of the gas pipeline in order to sectionalize it and prevent the impact of electric current on the entire highway. They are also recommended for installation at the joints of a gas pipeline made of dissimilar metals. The flange housing is made of a dielectric material (vinyl plastic or paronite) coated with a moisture-resistant polymer varnish based on bakelite.
